European Social Survey in Estonia
The European Social Survey (ESS) is an academically-driven social survey designed to chart and explain the interaction between Europe's changing institutions and the attitudes, beliefs and behaviour patterns of its diverse populations. Estonia joined the ESS in 2004 and has participated in all the following rounds. The importance of the ESS in Estonia was recognized in 2010 when it was written into the Estonian Research Infrastructure roadmap and in 2015 ESS in Estonia was recognised as the best project in the country on the field popularising science.
The survey has been financed by the Estonian Science Foundation, Ministry of Science and Education, State Chancellery, Ministry of Justice, Estonian Centre of Health and Behavioural Sciences, European Regional Development Fund through special programmes and University of Tartu.
The aim of the ESS team in Estonia is to contribute to the development of international science and provide infrastructure and services for promotion of social science development in Estonia. ESS has more than 1400 data users in Estonia. The data is used by scienctists, private sector, public administration and non-governmental sector for scientific research or policy making.
We are happy to cooperate with national and international partners!
