Journalism and Communication. Duration 3 years. Curriculum
The programme aims at educating students in journalism and public relation to understand communication processes in society and the role and functions of the media. The programme provides students with the basic knowledge in social sciences and research in media and communication and elementary skills for working as a reporter or public relations officer. Students can specialize in journalism or PR or choose a combination of both specialization modules.
After completion of studies in the bachelor's programme of journalism and public relations graduates are expected to work either as reporters in the offices of various media channels (both print and electronic) or as communication, marketing, public relations specialists in various public, business and third sector organisations (as in-house specialists) or as junior level communications consultants.
Information Society and Social Well-being. Duration 3 years. Curriculum
The aim of this programme is to provide broad base education in social sciences with fundamentals in information management, sociology, social work and social politics. The graduates are well versed in social processes and fundamentals of sociological and socio-political approaches. Depending on the intracurricular choices, a student will acquire the elementary skills of processing and interpreting of data in social sciences or skills to analyse and hedge the social risks with tools of social work. The qualifications acquired enable graduates to work as public servants and specialists whose position requires knowledge of social processes or as social workers whose competence complies with level III of the professional standard of social workers.
